2021 Giving Tuesday a major success!

Giving Tuesday

hayu masi ~ Many Thanks

Our 2021 Giving Tuesday campaign was a major success! The outpouring of support we received took us beyond our fundraising goal of $5,500 to a total of $6,673 in less than a week.

To spread the word, we took to our social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) beginning on settlers’ Thanksgiving holiday to the day of Giving Tuesday, November 30th.

The likes, shares, and comments on our social media platforms by our tribal citizens and allies are what made this fundraiser such a success. All money raised will support our Traditional Foods Program, which provides fish, game, berries, honey, ferns, nettles and garden vegetables for Chinook elders and families in need.

It is important to us to get back to our “roots” with food, so we thank you for your support and donations. Food sovereignty, in part, encompasses the right of our Indigenous peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food and agriculture systems. The phrase “culturally appropriate” signifies that the food that is available and accessible for the population should fit with the cultural background of the people consuming it.

Please follow us on our social media accounts as we continue to update our community and supporters on our latest news.
