“Promised Land” Spring Screenings

When COVID-19 hit last year there were over nineteen shows around the country planned that unfortunately had to be cancelled or indefinitely postponed. It’s been a difficult transition from live events to online
but thanks to the dedication of many ally groups who have wanted to tell this story and create environments to discuss federal recognition and how to partner with the tribes whose land they occupy we’ve been able to pivot and create some unique online events throughout the last year.

This coming week however we have the good fortune of many organizations stepping up to get the word out. Each organization is not only hosting the film but have also put together wonderful panels with tribal leaders and allies that you will not want to miss. The film will be available to stream online this week and part of next week through any of the following three event hosts. Please click on each individual time and date link to visit their organization’s website and find out more information about how to access the film this week.

April 20, 2021: a Youtube Live Event featuring Tony Johnson of the Chinook Indian Nation and Jolene Haas and James Rasmussen of the Duwamish Tribe. They’ll be talking about the ongoing acknowledgment efforts of both tribes.
This event is part of a multi-day festival hosted by Rainier Avenue Radio, Social Justice Film Festival, and Shunpike.
