Natural Resources & Food Sovereignty Committee
The mission of the Natural Resources and Food Sovereignty Committee is to act as an important player in the enhancement, protection, and revitalization of our natural resources.
In partnership with the Chinook Indian Nation Tribal Council, the Natural Resources and Food Sovereignty Committee is responsible for:
- Protecting Chinook Indian Nation’s sovereign authority over lands and natural resources.
- Rebuilding the relationships between the people and the land.
- Reindigenizing diets by providing opportunities for subsistence living, traditional food preservation and distribution.
- Fostering opportunities for hunting, fishing, and gathering.
- Ensuring that the Chinook Nation community has access to resources they require.
- Sharing knowledge and skills with members of the Chinook community.
- Serving as the liaison for the land, water, and natural world.
- Creating, establishing, and maintaining government-to-government and organization-to-government relationships to further the mission of the Natural Resources and Food Sovereignty Committee.
